Welcome home Jeffrey!

Finally, the REAL day came and we did EVERYTHING to keep Amber busy. We went to the mall, out to eat, to starbucks, and the list continues. The picture with us sitting on the same chair was taken in Starbucks where we hoped to stay a while and burn some time. We wound up sitting by this awkward lady and her weird kid so we left. When we finally got to the airport to pick up Jeff it was very late.  I was very impressed by the way Amber held herself together. She did an entire pregnancy, birth, and extra hospital stay without Jeff. It wasn't such an easy deployment for Jeff either. After his helicopter crashed in Afghanistan their coming home day kept on getting extended. Finally together, it was a perfect homecoming! In the pictures are Danielle and her two beautiful sons, who helped Amber through a lot of the deployment. What a beautiful family! The weirdest part about Jeff coming home was our conversation on the way back to Wilmington. For the first time EVER, Jeff was asking me Marine Corps related questions about Joey's work and I could answer them. Jeff and Amber were my first experience with the military. I asked Jeff a million questions and he was always patient enough to answer (I'm not saying he didn't laugh at some of my stupid questions). Jeff and Amber even came on my first date with Joey. Joey didn't know at the time but I was not going to go on a date with a rowdy Marine by myself. On the way home we talked about the first few months I knew them. Not only did they feed me dinner every night but I was disgusted by the fact that Jeff worked too much and Amber had to be alone for months at a time. Who would have thought I married a Marine?!?! Anyway, I am glad I was there to experience another wonderful homecoming with the McCarstles and Jeff meeting his clone for the first time!
