Once we got to Guayaquil, we took a taxi to our hotel. We heard Guayaquil is one of the most dangerous places in South America. We heard of people getting killed for a pair of shoes... GREAAAAT! So we got to the Hilton and checked in. Shannon was a deck hand for Lindblad expeditions and after a six month contract you are able to go free and a guest goes for really cheap on any of their cruises. So Fan took me and we went to the Galapagos. Part of the deal is staying in the Hilton the night before and the night after. After backpacking for weeks and staying in skanky beds, we were STOKED to sleep in a clean bed. We played in the pool and more importantly got a FULL night of sleep with no bugs, no bites, no people snoring... it was AWESOME! The next morning we got on our plane to the Galapagos. We were greated by this cute creature as we waited to board our cruise!
