We wound up getting in a fight with the owner of our hostel because he called American's shallow and ignorant. He was a jerk from Germany who was employed Ecuadorians for dirt cheap and making tons of money, mostly from American travelers. We stayed there for about a week and he had the nerve to talk about how stupid and selfish America is. It was time for us to move on anyway so off we went to Guayaquil, Ecuador where we would get our plane to the Galapagos. This was one of the saddest days of our trip for me. From the volcano and rain storms EVERYWHERE was flooded. I couldn't get any good pictures because we were on a bus but you can see how people lived in these little huts. The huts I tried to take a picture in were totally under water. It was horrible! It was the grossest bus ever and it took 8 hours. People jumped on and off selling chips, icecream on a platter melting everywhere, singing while the bus is moving, anything you can think of. Some guy got on the bus with a chicken in his bag and it was going crazy! We finally got to Guayaquil and couldn't WAIT for the night we've been dreaming about!
