Finally- fall in the desert

It literally went from 120 degrees to the high 70's in a day. We are welcoming fall weather with WIDE open arms. It has been absolutely beautiful without having to hibernate in the air conditioning. It's funny because we're wearing long sleeved shirts for 80 degree weather. For those of you who think living in California is on the beach, think again. Below are some pictures of good old 29 Palms. I must say, the sky is always blue but there is only so much brown you can take! All of that far off in the distance is the base.

This is what it looks like in our backyard. The scenery of Iraq and mountains of Afghanistan- hence the huge Marine Corps training base we live on.

That "tree" is one of the few green things around. This is right in front of the path to the golf course behind our house.
