Projects, projects, projects

So since I am not working full time and I am no longer in graduate school my part time job and living in the desert has left me bored (to say the least). I have picked up this great habit of online shopping. I mean really, it DOES save money from having to drive an hour and a half with California gas prices to the nearest mall or department store. I have been stalkingly checking this yard sale website and I randomly found an add for a changing table. The original plans for the desk being a changing table temporarily (hence the half office half nursery plan-since it will only be a few months until we move) quickly changed when I realized I have nothing to put all her bins *yes that is plural* of clothing in. To make a long story short, I contacted this guy and we went to pick up this changing table for only $20. It is an ugly cherry color and had a few minor issues with it (scratches and a hole) but nothing Super Dad couldn't take care of. Our sweet and handy friends the Bass' came over to give Joey a lesson on power sanding. Let's just say making straight lines with a power tool in a specific methodical pattern really appeals to Joey. So he went to town on this changing table. He buffed out all the scratches and got the ugly coloring off to paint it chocolate brown. The first few stages.....
I love that face!

Since the new invention of the power sander- Joey has repainted all the picture frames in the baby's room to match the dresser so all of the wood will be the SAME color. What an exciting time in our life!
